Pulpo in the Canaries

Bodegón de Las Gavias is a restaurant in the Canary Islands.  It serves all kinds of sea food.   Pulpo is a popular item on the menu.   Pulpo is the spanish word for octopus.   Mom and Dad were feeling adventurous one evening and decided to visit there with the purpose of testing out the "pulpo".  They had seen this meat sold raw in the local markets.  They knew the Canarians loved it.   Mom likes trying new kinds of foods.   ey went to the restaurant with two elders to share in the experience.   Everyone decided the pulpo was not something they would make part of their diet.   Mom, says it tasted like soft, swishy pieces of fat.  She took the leftovers home to share with other Elders that could not be there.
